This production of The Secret Garden was originally intended to play live in front of an audience in early April of 2020. Two weeks before opening, Missouri State University shut down in-person classes due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Instead, the show streamed a "Hamilton-Style" filmed performance in mid-September of the same year. All actors were masked with the anti-fog ClearMask, as well as technicians.
